Why did you join the Digital Leaders Club?
I was looking to join a network of like-minded digital leaders where I could share experiences and ask for advice.
What's your career journey been like to date?
A rollercoaster. I've been very lucky to be able to travel all over the world including Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore in some of my previous roles. I started as a Digital Merchandising Assistant and quickly got hooked on the trading and number side of Digital. Having a keen interest in trainers allowed me to combine a hobby with a career and I've never looked back.
What do you love about working in digital?
It has to be the pace of change. There are always new technologies and ideas being thrown about which keeps things moving and makes it exciting.
What's the biggest challenge when launching a successful website to drive sales?
Having enough data to understand what your customer wants. It's easy when you have a large customer base interreacting with your site, but when you're a small business it can be hard to turn the data into actions.
Consumer behaviours are always changing, and so is the way they purchase. What is the biggest challenge when monitoring such behaviours and designing solutions?
You have to continuously review and make sense of the data. What a customer wants today does not always mean they want it tomorrow so you have to continually review and test everything.
Which digital trend(s) do you predict will dominate 2025?
More retailers are moving to a marketplace, whether partially to expand product ranges or fully to reduce operational overheads. As costs increase for retailers and consumers customers expect more, so retailers will want to do this with less risk. Marketplaces will allow them to do so.
What's your plan for the future?
I've just started a new role as Head of Digital at Kick Game so I'll be here driving digital change and growing the business for at least the next few years, seeing how far we can take this brand.
